Overview

Evoto's Portrait Retouching module is the part of Evoto built for editing people. It finds each face, and you move sliders instead of painting. Skin tools remove blemishes and wrinkles using dodge and burn and frequency separation. Makeup presets cover brows, lashes, lipstick and hair color, and a liquify style body tool adjusts the figure. One saved setup applies across a whole shoot.

It runs inside the Evoto apps for web, Windows, Mac, iOS and Android, with the full slider set on desktop and most of it on the phones. Editing is free. You pay credits only when you export a finished photo, and credits come as pay as you go packs or a subscription.

When to use

Use Evoto Portrait Retouching when people are the subject and volume is the problem:

  • You retouch weddings, portraits, headshots or school photos and want one style applied across the whole shoot.
  • You want smooth, natural skin without learning frequency separation or dodge and burn by hand.
  • You need to reshape features or apply makeup digitally, per subject, with sliders.
  • You adjust body proportions for a client and want it done with a liquify tool, not Photoshop.
  • You work from a phone on shoot day and want core retouching in the iOS or Android app.

When NOT to use

Skip Evoto Portrait Retouching if any of these describe you:

  • Your photos rarely contain people. It is built around faces and bodies. A general photo editor fits landscapes or products.
  • You want a free full-resolution export. An export from the Evoto apps costs a credit. The browser tools vary: some give a few free runs, and some download free only at low resolution.
  • You need to combine several images into one. This module retouches the people in a single photo, so that still belongs in Adobe Photoshop.

Frequently asked questions

Editing is free. Like the rest of Evoto, you pay credits only when you export a finished photo. New accounts get some free credits to try it. See the Evoto page for the full model.

Evoto's skin tools are built to smooth while preserving texture, using dodge and burn and frequency separation rather than a flat blur. Over sliding can still look airbrushed, so the tools warn against too much.

The desktop app for Windows and Mac holds the full set of sliders. The iOS and Android apps are full editors too: portrait retouching, color correction, presets, body editing and batch editing. One account shares your edits and credits across devices. Every version needs an internet connection, since the retouching AI runs on Evoto's servers.

Yes. A liquify style body tool adjusts head, neck, waist, hips, arms and legs, and can slim or reshape while aiming to keep a natural look.

It replaces retouching hours, not your whole setup. Combining several images into one still belongs in Adobe Photoshop. Evoto exports in JPG, TIFF and RAW.
