Overview
Online-Convert changes an image from one format to another. It reads over 120 source formats and writes a dozen, including JPG, PNG, WebP, SVG, TIFF and ICO. It carries settings a drag-and-drop page does not. You can set output quality, dimensions, DPI and colour space, including CMYK for print, crop pixels off each edge, and switch on filters like sharpen, despeckle, deskew and greyscale.
It runs in a browser, with extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge, and works on credits. A free account gets an allowance that renews daily, with tasks queued behind paying users and a size cap. Paid plans are a subscription or a one-time credit package that expires after a set period. The policy states files are deleted within 72 hours.

When to use
Use Online-Convert if:
- You need a specific format, including less common ones like SVG, ICO, TGA, EPS or WBMP.
- You want to set the output yourself: quality, dimensions, DPI or colour space.
- Your file is going to print. You can convert to CMYK and set the DPI rather than accepting sRGB at screen resolution.
- You have an odd source file. It reads over 120 formats, so files other converters reject often go through.
- Your scan came out crooked, speckled or flat. Deskew, despeckle, normalize and equalize are checkboxes on the conversion.

The free allowance renews daily, so it does not build up. Credits bought as a one-time package roll over from month to month and expire after a fixed period, currently a year. Subscription credits come with the billing period. Check the pricing page for the current rules before buying a large package.
The policy states that a converted file can be downloaded a limited number of times, and that access is blocked automatically after 24 hours, or immediately if you choose. It states files are physically deleted within 72 hours at the latest, with no backups made. The files are uploaded to its servers, since that is where the conversion runs.
Quality, width and height, DPI, and colour space, including CMYK. You can crop a set number of pixels from each edge and apply colour filters such as greyscale or sepia. There are also checkboxes for sharpen, despeckle, equalize, normalize, antialias and deskew. For JPG you can set chroma subsampling and a black-and-white threshold. Every setting is optional.
It straightens an image that is slightly rotated, which usually means a page scanned or photographed at an angle. The converter detects the tilt and rotates it back. It is useful before running text recognition on a scan, since crooked text is harder for OCR to read.
Batch conversion exists and is limited by your plan, with free accounts on the smallest allowance and paid tiers handling larger sets. Each file in a batch still spends credits, so a big folder is what the paid plans are sold for.
