Browser upscaler: enlarge an image 2x to 8x with AI, with no watermark and one free image a day without an account.
Generative upscaling to 16x that re-imagines detail, with sliders controlling how far it goes.
Magnific is a generative upscaler: it enlarges images up to 16x while re-imagining them. Its models invent texture, lighting and fine detail as they scale, so a soft render, illustration or photo can come out richer than the original. You steer it: a creativity slider sets how much new detail the AI adds, a resemblance slider pulls results back toward the original, and a text prompt guides the enhancement.
The upscaler runs in the browser on a paid plan. Plans include a pot of credits that lasts a year, and the two higher plans spend credits only on the Magnific models. A free account cannot run an upscale: it asks you to pick a plan first.

No. You can create an account and open the upscaler, but choosing a scale asks you to pick a plan before it will run. Plans are subscriptions that include a pot of credits valid for a year rather than a monthly reset. On the two higher plans, upscaling spends credits only when you use the Magnific models.
Normal upscalers try to enlarge faithfully. Magnific generates new texture and detail as it scales, guided by your creativity and resemblance sliders and an optional prompt. There are two model families. Classic is a straight cleanup of a compressed or low-resolution image, and Magnific does the re-imagining, which the vendor puts on its Premium+ plan and above.
At higher creativity settings, yes, faces and details get re-imagined. If the photo must remain a true record of a person or product, keep creativity low or use a faithful upscaler instead.
Freepik rebranded the whole company to Magnific. The upscaler that made the Magnific name is now one tool inside that larger AI platform, alongside image and video generation. The legal entity behind it is still Freepik Company S.L.U.
AI-generated art, 3D renders, illustrations and soft or low-detail images benefit most, because inventing plausible detail is exactly what they need. Clean, sharp photographs gain the least and risk unwanted changes.
The vendor states that uploads are not used to train its models and that you keep the rights to what you make, with commercial use included on paid plans.
