DeepSwapper
Swaps faces in photos and GIFs free, without an account or a watermark, and lets you pick which face in a group shot changes.
Overview
DeepSwapper puts one face onto another in a photo. You upload the picture and the face you want in it, and its model replaces one with the other and blends it in. It also works on GIFs. In a group photo it detects every face and lets you pick which one to swap, rather than assuming the largest. It reads JPEG, PNG, WEBP and GIF.
It runs in a browser, and there is an iPhone app. Photo and GIF swapping is free and unlimited, and needs no account. The vendor states there is no watermark and that commercial use is allowed. This is deepswapper.com, a different product from the similarly named Deepswap.ai.
Key features
When to use
Use DeepSwapper if:
- You want to swap a face in a photo without making an account or paying anything.
- You need the result clean. The vendor states there is no watermark on what you download.
- You have a group photo and only one person should change. It finds every face and lets you pick.
- You are swapping a GIF rather than a still. The same tool handles short looping animations.
- You want to use the result for something commercial. The vendor states that is allowed.
- You want to try several attempts. Photo swapping is unlimited, so a failed swap costs nothing.
When NOT to use
Skip DeepSwapper if any of these describe you:
- You wanted Deepswap.ai. The names are nearly identical and they are separate products from different people. Deepswap is the other one.
- The faces are small, angled or in shadow. The AI matches the new face to the light and angle of the old one, and that is where it has least to work with.
- You want to edit the photo as well. This does the swap and nothing else, so the rest belongs in a photo editor.
- Your photo cannot go to someone else's server. The swap runs in the cloud.
- You want an account that keeps your work by default. Saving history is something you turn on here, not the default. Compare other face swap tools.
Frequently asked questions
For photos and GIFs, yes. The vendor promotes unlimited image swaps with no sign-up and states there is no watermark on your swaps. A single photo costs nothing, and what you download is a usable file rather than a blurred preview.
No. DeepSwapper at deepswapper.com and Deepswap at deepswap.ai are separate products run by different people, with different pricing and different terms. If you read a review or a price somewhere else, check which of the two it was about.
Yes. It automatically detects all the faces in the image and lets you select the one you want to replace. That also means you can work through several people in the same picture.
The vendor states that commercial use is permitted and that you may not use the output for illegal purposes. Whether a particular swap is appropriate still depends on whose face it is.
Yes. The site links to an iPhone app, listed in the App Store as FaceSwapper. The vendor states the app gives faster and unlimited swaps. The website itself also works in a phone browser.
The vendor states it does not store your photos unless you switch on the save history and save faces options. If you have, you can delete swaps from your account page. The swap itself runs on its servers, so the image is uploaded either way.
The AI has to fit the new face into the lighting, angle and size of the one it replaces. A clear, well-lit, front-facing face in both pictures is what works. A face that is small, turned away, in shadow or partly covered gives it little to match, and the result shows the join. Since swaps are unlimited, trying a better source photo costs nothing.
