Remini

One-tap AI enhancement that rebuilds detail and faces in low-quality photos.

FreemiumBeginnerWebiOSAndroid

Overview

Remini is an AI photo enhancer. It takes blurry, grainy, faded or low-resolution photos and rebuilds them into sharper, cleaner versions. Faces are its specialty: the AI reconstructs facial detail the original photo never captured. Remini also restores scanned old prints, removes grain, fixes faded colors and enlarges small images up to 2x.

Remini runs on the web and as iPhone and Android apps. In the phone apps the basic enhance is free and shows ads, and some extra tools ask you to watch another ad or subscribe. The web version needs an account and a subscription, sold as Personal and Business plans.

When to use

Use Remini if:

  • You have old family prints that are faded, scratched or blurry. Scan or photograph them, then run the restorer.
  • You caught a once-only moment with a shaky or out-of-focus shot and want a version worth keeping or printing.
  • You have small, low-resolution images, like old phone photos or downloads, that need sharpening and enlarging.
  • Your low-light photos are full of grain you want removed.
  • You want AI-generated portraits of yourself, made from a handful of selfies.

When NOT to use

Skip Remini if any of these describe you:

  • Your photos are already sharp. Remini fixes quality problems. For color, style and composition work, use a photo editor.
  • You need the result to be historically faithful, for example genealogy or documentation. The AI invents detail, and faces can drift from how the person looked.
  • You want to enlarge images a long way. Remini's enlarger goes up to 2x, so a dedicated image upscaler suits bigger jumps.
  • You want manual control with sliders and settings. Remini is one-tap by design. Other photo enhancers expose more controls.
  • You want free use on a computer. The free ad-supported path lives in the phone apps, and the web version needs a subscription.

Frequently asked questions

In the iPhone and Android apps the basic enhance is free, and the app shows ads. Some extra tools ask you to watch another ad or take a Remini Pro subscription before they run. The web version needs an account and a subscription. Personal outputs JPG and caps the photo count: 20 weekly, 80 monthly or 1040 yearly, depending on the billing period. Business adds PNG and TIFF output, commercial use and no photo cap.

Close, but not guaranteed. The AI reconstructs detail that was never captured, so it invents plausible features. Results usually resemble the person, but eyes, teeth and skin texture can come back subtly different. Review faces carefully before printing photos that matter.

Yes, that is one of its main uses. Scan or photograph the print first, then run the old-photo restorer to fix fading, blur and damage. The heavier the damage, the more the AI has to invent, so results vary.

Yes, it includes an image enlarger, and Remini states it increases size up to 2x while keeping quality. If you need a bigger jump than that, or you do not want content changed, a dedicated image upscaler gives you more size options.

Photos are processed on Remini's servers. The app privacy notice states that photos you upload, and the enhanced versions, are deleted one day after upload. The face data used to enhance them is deleted immediately. Uploads for the AI portrait generator are kept longer: 20 days for subscribers, 7 days otherwise, and the generated images 7 days. Remini also states that your photos are not used to train its AI unless you opt in, and that its technology is not used to identify people.
