Pixelbin Colorizer

An AI tool that adds natural color to black-and-white photos, with a choice of AI model and further editing afterwards, from Pixelbin.

FreemiumBeginnerWeb

Overview

Pixelbin Colorizer adds color to a black-and-white photo. The AI decides realistic colors for skin, sky, clothing and background. You choose which AI model runs and the output aspect ratio, but you cannot name a color. You can then keep editing the result in Pixelbin's AI image editor, to refine details or change the background.

It runs in the browser. The first three colorizations work with no account, and a free account holds three credits a month. The vendor states downloads carry no watermark, on the free plan too. Past the allowance you pay by monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time pack.

When to use

Use Pixelbin Colorizer if:

  • You have a grayscale family or historical photo and want a realistic color version without picking any colors yourself.
  • You want a say in how it turns out, since you pick the AI model and the output aspect ratio before it runs.
  • You want to correct the result afterwards, since its brightness, contrast and tone controls sit on the same page.
  • You want the file with no watermark, which the vendor states you get on the free plan as well.
  • You already use Pixelbin's other AI image tools, because colorizing draws on the same account and credits.

When NOT to use

Skip Pixelbin Colorizer if any of these describe you:

  • You need exact, specific colors, like the true color of a uniform or a flag. The AI guesses plausible colors and cannot be told precise ones. Hand-painting in Adobe Photoshop gives that control.
  • Your photo is also scratched, torn or faded. This only adds color, so use a photo restoration tool to repair it first.
  • You have many photos to colorize. A free account holds three credits a month, and bulk runs go through Pixelbin's API, which comes with the premium plans.
  • You want to compare several colorizers before committing. Browse the photo colorizers category.

Frequently asked questions

You get your first three colorizations without an account. A free account then holds three credits a month. Downloading results draws on those credits. Past them you buy more by monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time pack.

No. The vendor states downloads are watermark-free, including on the free plan. Only the number of free colorizations a month is limited.

Not directly. The AI decides the colors from what it recognises in the photo. You do choose which AI model runs and the output aspect ratio before it starts, and you can adjust brightness, contrast and tones afterwards. You cannot set an exact color for a specific object.

The vendor states monthly credits expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not carry over. It publishes no expiry rule for one-time credit packs.

It accepts WEBP, JPG, JPEG and PNG files, up to 10MB. Larger files or other formats are rejected.

No. It only adds color. Scratches, tears and fading stay exactly as they are, so run a photo restoration tool before or after colorizing if the print is damaged.
