Img2Go Colorize

Img2Go Colorize adds color to a black-and-white photo. The AI predicts colors for skin, sky, grass and objects. You choose between two models: one tuned for outdoor scenes and people, and a generic one for illustrations, drawings and images that are not ordinary photos. A render factor slider trades processing speed against color quality.

It runs in the browser only, with ads on the free tier. Free users can colorize 2 photos a day. Beyond that, Img2Go sells credits on a subscription billed monthly or yearly, and paid plans add batch processing. The vendor states uploads are encrypted in transit and that your photos are not used to train its AI.

Img2Go Colorize fits quick coloring of old black-and-white shots. Use it if:

• You have a black-and-white family or historical photo and want to see a colored version of it.
• Your photo is a landscape, street scene or portrait, which is what the 'Nature and People' model is trained for.
• You are coloring an illustration or technical drawing, where the generic model handles images that are not ordinary photos.
• You want to color a photo or two without signing up, which the free 2 a day covers.
• You also need the image upscaled, resized or converted, since those tools sit on the same site and take the same file.

• Your photo is torn, scratched or faded. Coloring does not repair damage, so run Img2Go's own Image Restoration, or another photo restoration tool, first and colorize the cleaned-up version.
• You want to choose the exact colors. The AI guesses them, so a photo editor is the way to set a dress or a car to the shade you remember.
• You have many photos to color at no cost. Free use is capped at 2 photos a day and batch processing sits on the paid plans.
• You also want the photo sharper. Coloring adds no detail, so use Img2Go's own Upscale Image or another image enhancer.
