Overview
Evoto's AI Color Match takes the colour style of one photo and puts it on another. You give it a reference image and it transfers that look in one click. It reads the photo first. Evoto states it detects the subject and maps colour by area, so skin, hair and background are handled separately rather than shifted together.
Once one photo is graded, you match that grade across other selected photos, so a whole shoot stays consistent. It sits under Color Adjustment in Evoto's desktop app, and the mobile app and website carry it too. Evoto is free to edit with, and you pay a credit only on export.

When to use
Use Evoto's AI Color Match if:
- You have a photo whose colour you like and want the same treatment on your own, which is what the reference photo is for.
- You shot a whole set and need them consistent. Sync applies one grade across selected photos rather than making you match them by eye.
- Your photos are of people. It maps skin tones, hair and background separately rather than shifting everything at once.
- You want a film stock, duotone or HDR look and would rather not build it from sliders.
- You want to see the result before paying, since editing is free and the credit is spent on export.
- You already use Evoto for retouching, since this is in the same desktop app and the same account.
When NOT to use
Skip Evoto's AI Color Match if any of these describe you:
- You have one photo and one quick colour fix. A whole desktop app is more than that needs, and a free colour grading tool will be faster.
- You have no reference photo. This works by copying a look from somewhere. Building a grade from nothing is what Adobe Lightroom is for.
- You want a free full-resolution export. Editing in Evoto is free, but a full-resolution export spends a credit and only the low-resolution one is free.
- You organise shoots in a catalogue and grade RAW files there. Adobe Lightroom is built around that and Evoto is not.

A filter applies the same colour shift to every photo regardless of what is in it, which is why one preset can suit a landscape and not a portrait. Color Match reads the picture first. Yes. Once a photo is graded, Sync matches that same grading to other selected photos, so a set comes out consistent. Doing that by hand means matching frames by eye.
A reference photo with the colour you want. It needs nothing else. Without a reference, there is nothing for it to copy. The reference can be anything with a look you like, such as a film still, a shot from another photographer, or one of your own photos you already graded. If you cannot point at an example, you need a tool for building a grade from scratch instead.

Evoto's mobile app lists Color Match among its tools, and the feature page on Evoto's website has a browser version with three free runs. The AI runs on Evoto's servers, so even the installed app needs an internet connection, and your photos are uploaded for processing.
